Scenarios and Strategy: Tools, methodologies, and case studies
Insights and Uncertainties: Opinions, ideas, and insights about the social, technological, economic, environmental, and political forces driving change and their implications for industries, organizational functions, and business in general. Also includes the reports from public GBN projects.
GBN Book Club: Continuing a 25-year tradition, the GBN Book Club, edited by cofounder Stewart Brand, is a monthly review of books that shed new light on our past, present, and future. Stewart is also the author of five books and the cofounder of the Long Now Foundation, The WELL, the Whole Earth Catalogue and many other creative ventures.
GBN Perspectives: A quarterly interview series showcasing the original ideas, opinions, and insights of individual GBN Network members.
For more than 20 years, GBN has been scanning the world for signs of discontinuity and change and helping organizations make sense of their patterns and implications. Sustaining a broad focus on social, technological, economic, environmental, and political (STEEP) forces is a fundamental component of our work as scenario thinkers and planners and continues to inform GBN's own thought leadership.
Equally critical is engaging multiple, diverse perspectives on what changes matter most and why. The GBN Network — comprising more than 100 visionary thinkers and experts across disciplines and industries — is a unique and invaluable asset, not only for identifying and interpreting change but for challenging our entrenched assumptions about how the world works. We find that this same ruthless curiosity and commitment to learning is shared by many of the organizations with which we work — organizations intent on shaping the future.
Over the years, GBN has published more than 1,000 papers and reports on a wide range of topics, in addition to dozens of books and articles and content in other media. The resources available on our website are a subset of the most important and most requested writings, podcasts, and videos in three categories:
